Deanna is a digital content specialist from a varied agricultural background. In her role as the CALS Digital Content Specialist, she manages the social media for CALS, Virginia Cooperative Extension, and the Virginia 4-H program. Through social media, Deanna works to tell the story of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Virginia Cooperative Extension and connect with students, alumni, and the community.

Before coming to Virginia Tech, Deanna was the Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Coordinator for the New River Valley, Social Media Manager for Farm Choice Country Stores, and a greenhouse grower at Riverbend Nursery.

Deanna grew up in her family’s retail greenhouse business and on a small Red Angus beef cattle farm Broadway, Virginia. She earned bachelor’s degrees in agribusiness, horticulture, and Spanish from Ferrum College and a master’s degree in agricultural education and communications from Kansas State University.
