Lauren is a front-end web developer who has spent her career in K-12 and higher education. As the CALS web manager, she is responsible for telling the digital story of the college through engaging and strategic web-based communication. She enjoys both the creative and the analytical aspects of her work. Browse some of her recent web projects→

Prior to her position at CALS, Lauren worked for The Catholic University of America, the Center for Power Electronics Systems at Virginia Tech, and the Anchorage School District. She has completed contract work for the Smithsonian Institution, Anchorage Museum, and Alaska Native Media Group, among others. In addition to web design and development, her work experience includes cultural education, program management, curriculum design, and professional development for educators.

Lauren was born in Germany and grew up in a military family, landing in Anchorage, Alaska at 14. She was awarded a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and M.A. in anthropology from George Mason University. She has a graduate certificate in Leading Education Systems from Harvard, and attended Karl-Ruprecht-Universität’s graduate program in American Studies while an au pair in Mannheim.
