Max Esterhuizen

Max Esterhuizen is a communications and marketing specialist that has spent his professional career in higher education and in sports journalism. As the assistant director for communications and marketing for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Max tells and shares the incredible stories inside the college, AREC, and Extension.

Prior to joining the Communications and Marketing team, Max worked in University Relations at Radford University and covered Virginia Tech athletics for multiple outlets. 

While born in Canada, Max grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a lifelong Braves fan. Max graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in English and earned his Master’s in Corporate and Professional Communication from Radford University. One of his favorite achievements is convincing his wife, also a Hokie, to run out to Enter Sandman at their wedding reception
