- Extension Communications Manager
As the Extension Communications Manager, Lori Greiner has the responsibility for developing a strategic communications and marketing program for Virginia Cooperative Extension. She plans and implements comprehensive communications and marketing activities supporting Extension’s goals and is responsible for news writing and information campaigns on topics of agriculture and natural resources, 4-H youth programs, family and consumer sciences, and community viability to internal audiences, the university’s and college’s direct constituencies, and to the people of Virginia. Lori works with other university and college communication staff to insure coordination of media and public relations activities. She also serves as the content manager for Extension's website.
Prior to this role, Greiner served as communications manager for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for six years.
She earned a bachelor's degree in Food Systems Economics and Management and a second major in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communications from Michigan State University.
Greiner is a member of Association for Communications Excellence (ACE), Public Relations Society of America - Blue Ridge Chapter, and the College Communications Association of Virginia and Washington, D.C..
